About the Papakaio 8 hour

This action packed racing day is a key fundraiser for Papakaio school. In 2018 the school & community got their heads together, to design and build an epic mountain bike track at Willow Park in Papakaio. This is one of the best established mountain biking tracks in North Otago. Designed to test endurance and challenge all ages. Find out more about the race day and categories below.

  • Men and Women section

  • Riders must be over the age of 13

  • Riders are to complete as many laps as possible in 8 hours

  • Prizes awarded for 1st 2nd 3rd

Team

Teams

Record: 19 Laps

  • Men and Women mixed section

  • Teams must have 4 members

  • Riders must be over the age of 13

  • Riders are to complete as many laps as possible in 8 hours

  • Prizes awarded for 1st 2nd 3rd

Social

  • Open category

  • Riders must be over the age of 13

  • Riders are to complete as many laps as possible in 8 hours

  • Up to 10 members per team

  • Category 1: 7- 9 years 1 hour duration

  • Category 2: 10-12 years 2 hour duration

  • Riders are to complete as many laps as possible in allocated time
